Specky's Vauxhall Tigra New Engine Dyno
I'm assuming a few people know about this car from TOTB and at the pod, anyway he had an engine failure a while back and just got his new engine dyno'd.

Ok i can see the way it's going already, don't litter my thread with petty arguments about dyno dynamics v other rolling roads or any other shit you guys might have loaded in the keyboard infront of you.

I made the comment i made because i know from experience there is going to be some this dyno is better than that, e-penis swinging and what some would call Lolz at dyno dynamics. I mearly sought to stop that before it happened...

I would think that technically this time its a z20let block with a c20let head on it as I would imagine he has gone to the open deck block as its easier to re-enforce, as we both bust a closed deck one, and he'd be breaking it again at that power in no time im sure. Not spoken to him yet though since this one has been built, will let you know when I do if he doesnt post first (he comes on here sometimes anyway)

BHP = Torque * RPM / 5252
So any car making peak torque after 5252rpm by definition has to have more power than torque, and even if you make peak torque before then, providing the torque doesnt drop off much further up the rev range, you'll still make more power.
500/500 just proves an engine doesnt want to rev IMHO!

thanks guys
we used an xe block this time with the standard crank out of the other engine... it made that power at 2.2bar of boost still on pump gas we do think it could do some more power but i just need to get out in the car and have some fun for abit.
we r going to put it on race fuel at some point and try turn it up alittle more

Zee Germans are coming
very good power that mate fair play
and genuine question
how much harder is it gonna be to get off the line
with the extra power will you need to run wider slicks as id imagine your gonna need alot more grip now

10K+ Poster!!
Personally I'd of thought it would make little difference as your not running full power in the lower gears.

Chip i presume he will need the extra power for that front wheel drive series as i believe they all have to weigh 1000kg correct me if im wrong,as it seems cpl make the rules being the biggest sponser so there are restrictions on turbo trim and weight,as i dont think they want to be beaten by lighter cars lol,im my opinion if its front wheel drive it shouldnt matter what it weighs or what turbo you have ,fastest wins end of

TBH though if specky bolts lead weight as far forward and as low down as possible I would think he can make the weight work FAR better for him than the heavier cars can as it will be distributed so much better!
Wouldnt be surprised if it actually makes him quicker doing that now he has all that extra power to go with it (ie he'll have same power to weight ratio as he had with less weight and less power, but far better weight distribution)

i agree mate as i said aslong as its front wheel drive it shouldnt matter what it weighs or how much power it has, obviously worried about the compitition

I think richard b is also something to do with that series and a big minimum weight limit probably suits him too with his FTO.

Great results, about 100hp more than last time?
Min weight is a real pain, there point is it keeps the cars more like road cars. But everybody knows they are all trailored there so why do they need full interiors from the b pillar forwards.
It actually used to be 1089kg!
All the newer/bigger cars are ok. As you say it'll be fine for speccy, he'll have to add around 50kg's or something and can put it far fowards.
I'd have to add 200kg's which would A, be very hard to physically fit it upfront, and B probably make me break a gearbox every run.
