I had my T5 BOX done at BARA as it was winding and started to jump out of gear so they did the lot . £510 anout 2 years back

£580, complete build, using the better selector forks and synchros, had done 200,000 miles though!!
Only issue with it was not going into 3rd gear if over about 3000rpm, plus a massive whine when cold in 5th gear.

I need mine doing as 3rd gear synchro is fucked.

Do I change just the synchro or get the whole box done?

Had mine done by G.E.A.R.S, picked up from my house and returned all in 430.I'm in kent they are in Liverpool

Mines away to G.E.A.R.S at the minute. I wanted an exchange unit but they didnt have any on the shelf, so he's using my case and fitting a whole new gearset for £500.

Andy at G.E.A.R.S is a really helpful bloke. Turnaround is pretty quick too, within a week from getting picked up to getting it back.

few places ive contacted wouldnt go near my t5 ,


one bloke actually said " We have a list on the wall of gearboxes we wont touch ....and the ford t5 is top of it ......"

Strange, as I dont think its a very complicated setup. Its probably more to do with parts. Andy at GEARS said they bought up a lot of the Ford T5 stock from various locations, and they also make the 5th gears in house.

Seems to know his stuff and was a load cheaper than CTS who wanted £750.

Had mine done last week by bara £475.00 3rd hard to engage 5th broken teeth now good as new.
