The most obvious reason would be the clutch being at the end of it's life. How are you adjusting a hydraulic clutch tabetha???

Id bleed the clutch (change the fluid) then start looking at the clutch friction plate

wrong height from hyd bearing to pressure plate, too much clearance will give a poor pedal
does it slip?

alittle more info may help. its a hydraulic converted 4x4 cosssie. clutch has been repadded but the issue was there before the clutch was done.
using standard 4x4 thrust bearing.
it doesnt seem to slip and it does seem to disengauge all the way.
ive bled, rebled and then rebled a few more times with no change at all

If the bite is high then it's probably not using the slaves full travel. If it had air in the system the bite point would be low. Is the slave cylinder mounted correctly. Is it an external slave or is it a slave/bearing on the shaft?

Or the slave cylinder could be too long and it's travelling more than it needs to

the slave is mounted to the outside of the box qnd pushes the original clutch fork/arm. im partly thinking that maybe a smaller master cylinder may help but i dont no what size the current one is

You need to measure the total length of the slave when it's fully out and fully in and maybe speak to someone like reyland who do these conversions
