Default gearbox help pics of gears inside...

ive got a gearbox in bits at the mo and it needs some bit doing.
while its out ive been looking at the gears and the synchro teeth on the gear have had the tips ground off of them.

can i grind the teeth back to a point? and how can i do it? im guessing they will be too hard to do it by hand? and will it need balancing after?

No you can not repoint them. If the dog teeth are that bad theb replacement is the only option.

I heard on the grape vine that the UN1 syncro does not like fast shifting.. so slow down LOL

Get onto 21toc and message Harding, he can get the parts and is probably your best bet for anything to do with the UN1.

You got that solid input shaft yet?

Give Tony at Geartech a ring on 01299 251261 and he may be able to source a replacement for it.

As for filing it it would further weaken it and make it more prone to wear. Have tried it on many diffrent boxes.for customers and they all complaimed afterwards.
