Default What would you do?

My mum has got a fiesta, just a bog standard 1.4, not Zetec or anything snazzy, but I have looked after it well for her and its really low mileage, and its mint apart from a few dents from the tesco's car park.

She is thinking of getting another car later this year and I was tempted to buy it off her as she doesnt want alot for it and I can pay in installments if needed

Obviously it would need radical modifications as its disgusting green and its bog standard inside plus I cant afford to insure it till im 21 so i can take my time doing it properly

Do you reckon its worth having it off her and fitting Zetec S bumpers's Zetec engine ( perhaps) stripped out interior, flocked dash, repaint etc etc

Or wait and get a 2 door focus and fit RS body kit and wheels, flocked dash, leather Recaro's/Sparco's ( how I think an RS should be like lol)

Which do you think will be cheaper to insure?

Or should I get myself a Mk1 Fiesta and again wait till im 21 till I can add it on my insurance policy and restore it to mint and modified but not drastic

Luke

It will be cheaper just to buy the car you want rather than trying to turn something into the car you want.

Less hassles from insurance too.

Mark B on here used to drive his mums W-reg 1.4 Fiesta and it was fantastic fun on the back roads... it was completely standard, apart from some 6x9s that had been screwed into the standard parcel shelf.

Ran a 16.6 on the 1/4 mile as well.

Cheers,
Grant

Well Ive had a re think and decided to wait a little while, and get myself a 3 door focus, RS body kit and wheels and leather seats. Exactly what my dream car is ( I cant afford an RS lol) Should work out cheaper as Im not going to town with stipud mods, engine will remain standard (for the moment lol)

Only Problem is Insurance at the moment, It will take a long time complete the build ( fitting the body kit, flocking the dash and interior trim. Fitting the seats, Silicone hoses all round, respray thewhole car, and underneath ( Waxoil it) and paint the underneath ( coil springs etc etc) by the time its finished the insurance will of gone down

The Idea will be to have a focus RS look alike, not a proper pimped up motor

You will need the RS arches to fit a genuine RS kit or you can get a replica kit.

Cheers mate, I have a thread on the focus area on the forum, I have found fibreglass panels that are RS replica ones for around 300 pounds, so If they fit, then I can fit the RS Bumpers?? Well replica ones unless I can get genuine second hand ones
