Interesting question, not sure if it means something or is just an arbitary code.

On vauxhalls the engine code letters all mean something, like

20XE = 20 (2.0 litre) X (high compression) E (injection)
C20LET = C (catalyst) 20 (2.0 litre) L (low compression) E (injection) T (turbo)

If he does fit the c20let to his nova he is looking at mid 13s up the quarter and somewhere in the 6s from 60-100

Thats before he starts spending any real money tuning it.

I think they were gonna put a YB badge on the back.

YB = Y Bother

For all the usual ppl that want to glue themselves to your back bumper.

YBB is a Cosworth code (internal project code).

The first Cosworth T88/Pinto block based project with a 16 valve head was a natural asp (non turbo) engine for OEM fitting into TVR's. It was coded "YAA" (early 1983)

Then later that year Cosworth were "toying" with the idea of adding a turbo.......eventually they dynod the turbo version (of the YAA) engine in December 1983. They coded this "new" engine the "YBB"......at that stage they did not have a customer for this engine, it was "just" an internal project

So what does MR2 stand for doug?

I assume the M = mid engine
and im guessing R = rear wheel drive
but what about the 2?
2 = too many people mistake ferraris for them?
