how much boost would a 2litre zetec bottom end handle

as above,standard 2 litre bottom end with cvh head

I ran my old 2.0zvh turbo at 25psi around castle coombe flat out and did not blow up.
engines still going strong now

But to be safe i if you want it to last i would say around 15 to 18psi

Yep iam aiming to run 18psi max. Prob will run more but depends on how long you want the engine to stay in one bit!

was that a standard bottom end or did u hav diifferent pistons
or any thing like that and would it run ok with the standard
erst injection system

dont know what chip its got,ashley exhaust,k&n filter,saab t3 turbo
running 18psi at the moment and its supposed to be several hundred
quid power engineering head aswell

yeh was thinking about just standard bottom end with whatever
boost that would be possible,surely it would be a bit more
responsive off boost aswell then or not

I think standard zetec psitons can take about 8psi.
ST170 pistons i think are forged with steel rods so may take a little more.

My old one held 15psi all day long, had done for about a year, that had standard 2ltr zetec bottom end, ported head (i think). No fifth injector. Nice and powerful (think it got 203bhp), just enough to drive on the road.

wouldnt mind getting it rolling roaded but the only place near
me is pts and ive heard and seen a few things that hav put me off
them but would probably take it to scc performance to c what they
could do

No worries matey Was ran at 25psi for coombe though, i remember DOO tellin me that. I was told that pistons standard ones, can only take upto 18psi!!

tony i was told your old car blew up not long after you sold it

you wont want to run mroe than 1 bar of boost on a std zetec set cast of pistons tho

sorry to steer this thread a little off topic but what about max boost on calibra turbo pistons, in full blown zetec turbo?
