Default yb power

just been looking at a 930 bhp evo from RC Developments. isn't about someone tuned a yb to this kind of figure !! seems like the jap crap is miles ahead now ?? if its possible from a 2.2 evo why not a 2.2 yb ??

its not that simple though is it there are a lot more factors than just displacment, plus most the cossies are built for the track.

Yb's have been tuned beyong this point and have been for years.

Its a question of purpose & budget.

and you can have bigger CC Yb's if you want, you can have 2.1-2.5 i would think, just would need to do pistons rods and crank accordingly.

Just wondering, people always seem'd to be talking about 650 + nos but nothing like 930.

Cant beleive its running 930bhp and only manages a 10.3, thats not really much quicker than Martins old escort, which ran a 10.6 on FAR less power than that.

Cant see the point in having to suffer horrific lag and the expense of owning it just for the sake of that slight a difference.

have you seen the power graph on that evo?? if you got in and drove it, you would think they had swapped the original engine for a reeaaally slow naturally aspirated engine, then as you were thrashing the shit out of the slow engine, just about to hit the rev limiter, you'd go from 100bhp to almost 1000 at 7000rpm then the SECOND it did you'd have to change gear

bet its well useful on the road

930bhp ? And I'm a Dutchman .

Kev's 600bhp (NOS assisted so LOADS of torque) Escort Cosworth does identical quarters - something smells - oh yeah, it's bullshit .

Also Simon Norris's Evo produces similar quarters and is exactly 200bhp down on the RC car - again, I think I can smell some exagerated power figures .

Fuck me, talk about no area under the curve, even on that plot, and i bet its a lot worse now if its really 930bhp.

Sod having a car that doesnt come on boost till 5500rpm and then everything all happens at once.

75bhp @ 3700rpm

Wow, as much as a nova gte then!
