Default Silvertop Camshaft Bolts

Good afternoon one and all,

Could anyone advise where to get a pair of bolts as I had to drill the head off one of mine after stripping the torx housing on one.

Are the blacktop bolts the same as I have been offered a couple?

Thanks in advance,

Avagolen.

ARP do them quite cheap and they are uprated too. I bought some standard bolts direct from ford then decided to fit ARP's instead

Hi Fudgey,

I doubt you are wrong, but last time I bought some bolts from Ford, I had to order on one day and then go and collect another day. Time and travelling are not cheap these days.....

Hi, it's me again.

Good point Fudgey, note to self - must try harder.

Anyway, I have just read a thread that Ford say they are single use anyway !!!!

HeyHo, will phone my 'localish' ford main dealer on Monday AM.

I've always reused them on silvertops, never had a issue, and all torqued up to correct amount.

Hi Tabetha,

Thankyou for your reply. I am glad to hear that you re-use them. What torque setting do you use? 50Ft/Lbs?

Instills confidence when I have to replace the cambelt next time.
