Head gasket decided to let go this morning.

Yea Carlo it has a GRP A gasket I'll see the bigger picture later after work when I start to strip it... That's the problem it's hardly been used over the years.

if the gasket is new mate might be worth getting the head checked & make sure it was the right head bolts used , i could be way off the mark but have seen someone fit a head to a 3 door & the head bolts were different cant quite remember now

Awww, kinda shit news mate.. but I'm sure once you add the wee pile of bits you'd collected to the rebuild that will soften the blow once it's back together and mapped.

They aren't that difficult to work on after you familiarise yourself with the funky layout to be honest Glenny boy.

gutted for ya matt least it should be a easy cheap fix you will only be able to use the early type headbolts as the later 2wd head bolts have a wider washer and i am pretty sure these type wont fit on a 3 door head
