Just pay for proper insurance and declare everything. Simples or it will bite you on the arse. My cousin got screwed for not declaring his exhaust when they found out from the garage who was repairing it

Cant it will cost to much and I cant get the insurance on a ST, I know what you mean however I will only be taking it to a garage I know and trust as I know the owner very well. However if I have a crash it wont be good but I will take the risk If any one can tell me what to get the 2.0L zetec and turn it into a ST or get the ST engine in a 1.25 fiesta zetec..?

Lying to your insurance company is utterly retarded - you'd be better off having no insurance at all! Being 18 you just have to suck up the fact that you're either going to have to pedal around in something ordinary, or pay a fucking fortune in premiums.

Oh and delterflier - Can't beleive that you were still considering that ST170 even after what Grant said!!!!!!!

Ozz120: Your be thick to not tell the insurance, my first car was a 1.8 mk1 focus and that was plenty fast enough for a first car. None of my mates could keep up.

Delterflier: Your also thick for thinking of getting that car, just shop around there WILL be the right car for you. If it was a Ł200 piece of shit car then yeah go for the first one but not this.

Insurance would be cheaper on just buying the ST rather than modifying yours. Just wait a year or two for fucks sake. You've been driving 5 minutes you don't need power

Mate, seriously!! What happens when someone crashes into you, and the insurance company comes out to assess the damage for your payout? Or your car gets nicked, trashed and recovered, and the insurance assessor comes out? Or what happens when you have a crash and the police get involved?

It's all well and good having a friendly garage - but you're running a massive and stupid risk. If you try and defraud the insurance companies best of luck even getting a quote for the next 5 years!!

Have no idea with the fiesta. I would say buy the real deal.

And what happens when you crash into someone and then end up in court with charges of fraud, and no insurance.

Way i see it is, 18 year old. Chances are you will crash. Out of 6 or 7 of my mates who are the same age, im the only one not to crash/claim and were all 20 been driving since 17.

So when the inebibitable (sp) happens you will get ripped a new one!

What happens if you seriously injured someone with void insurance?

How does the 2.0 ESP compare to the ST170? I was thinking about an ST170 but I need a god degree of reliability, and the 2.0 ESPs are much cheaper. Are they a lot slower than the ST170?

New style ST up at Arnold Shark looks nice John, looks like the top spec ST3 so has all the toys... if the history, condition and figures all check out then it's going to be much better (albeit more expensive) alternative to the ST170.

Cheers,
Grant

Ive just bought an ST2 mate, and it's a completely different cup of tea compared to an st170. Soooooo much faster, better quality, amazing cars really. The 170 was unreal round corners though.

Barring the initial outlay (or finance) theyre not that much (if any) more expensive to run that an st170. Cheaper insurance, same tax.

Petrol, if your just pottering about then i'd say better than an st170. But if your giving a bootfull all the time then expect to see sub 20mpg. If your somewhere in the middle then i'd say the same as a 170.

Try one, youll forget all about an st170

There's a Focus T230 for sale on this site for just a little more at Ł5700 if I remember correct. 14k miles from new with 2.0 16v turbo with 230bhp but I'm sure they're only on logbook as 2.0 16v if you didn't want to declare it and get cheaper insurance. Up to you but it's an alternative to the ST170 and VERY rare. I would recommend declaring it all though as my T190 is only Ł709 with 3 years no claims and a fault claim ATM.

ok this has been along couple of weeks but to sum things up arnold clark havent been able to get me the finance for the st3.

thay ended up trying a "sub prime " lender called marsh finance, never had any responce from arnold clark so after work i looked up said finance company and gave the a ring...

thay said thay would finance me for 12,000..to say i was shocked was an understatement then the guy droped the bomb shell

thay dont do finance on performance cars

im so gutted its one big kick in the teeth, tbh all arnold clark have done is get my hopes up and fuck up my credit rating
