I was sent a clip from someone I know of his mates car, a 3 door cossie doing the 1/4 in 9.17, is this quick ?, it's a properly tricked out car, but mate gave me no info.
What is a std 2wd 1/4 time and mph anyone know please ?

I know it's very quick, just not my thing, I just watched some other cars on youtube and was amazed the "slower" car was 1 sec behind the other car, but passed nearly 15mph faster.
I can't see the fascination with 1/4 myself, was more just curious how a cossie stacks up as a family 4 door car these days.

It's defo got slicks, I'll see if I can dig the link, it's totally stripped etc, and as afaik is used just for 1/4.

Mmmm....8-900bhp evo's on slicks don't generally do times like that so must be VERY special if it's doing that as purely a modified road car and not a tubbed drag car!

Very fast, the standard car is 15 secs and around 90 odd MPH, Saph was faster than this (14 @ 97MPH)!

I have a video of a Saph doing a 11.82 at 124 MPH pass.

Looking at the original road tests in mags such as Motor, Autocar, Performance Car, the 3-doors were timed at between 14.8 and 15.5 for a SS1/4

This is Si Norris running 9.2 in 160mph with near on 900bhp so a 3dr doing 9s must be absoultly manic.....

Mike, i was reffering to the car Tab was talking about, to run 9s it must be near 800bhp i'm guessing so a terminal of over 150 or near as i'd say, i'm no expert mind but terminals give a good indication of the power..

Dave, i reckon it'd still take 800+bhp to get low 9s, i mean it's damn nearly high 8s Tab says.. that's some going in a 3dr..

Buy rods sapphire, stick a decent linked 9" ford beam axle in the back and knock yourself out !

puddy

Ps.
If you then wanna go quicker, stick an air shifted five speed liberty in it with a proper drag clutch.

7.4 what?

Wayne saunders ran 7.4's years ago in his bdte powered focus drag car on race fuel.
