Default Insurance; who does the multi driver thing?

Which company does the multi driver thing so that we can both gain no claims discount on the same policy?

When you put in the additional driver details it asks for her NCB entitlement.

In a years time, she will have an extra year by having been on your policy for that year. Double-check that the extra year is recognised by others and not just the company you decide to go with, though. can't remember for Direct Line because both our boys stayed with them when they got their own policies. Think it was OK when eldest moved to Admiral, though.

as said be VERY carefull when taking out a policy like this as the named driver may well get screwed over when they come to have their own policy.

about 3 years ago my mate had built 2 years no claims as a named driver on his mum's policy with direct line but they wouldn't honor it when he came to take his own policy out unless he stayed with them. this meant that even with 2 years ncb he was paying more than i was with the same 2 years experiance but no ncb as i was able to shop around!

in short its not worth doing unless you can leave them WITH the discount.

Apart from the small matter of Admiral being a total shower of shit, these policies often leave the named high and dry as other companies don't always recognise the ncb. Like those 10 month policies that give a years ncb.

We're with Admiral multicar for the Mondeo and her C2 vts. I get the no claims for the mondeo and she gets the ones for the citroen. It was sooo much cheaper than 2 individual polices. Is this what you mean

Ah right got you. If it's mega cheap and reasonable if you re-insure with the same company the following year, you can take your NCB where you want after that

insurance companies make the rules up to suit themselves and change them when it suits them they are worse than used car dealers and estate agents
They are very good and taking your money but not so good at paying it out in the event of a claim
often it is actually cheaper to take out a new policy than renew an existing one
it can also be cheaper to forget your NCB and get a quote for insurance as a new customer and shop around and play one off against the other
lets face it none of them are going to rush to pay you out in the event of a claim they'll all try to worm out of it if they can.

i have a multi car policy with admiral as it is apparently cheaper, the cars are a Ford galaxy ghia and a ford Fusion, both diesel both just run arounds, me and the wife are closer to 40 than 30 and my renewal today was £1283, so i went on there website and got individual quotes and it comes in at £990, as said they make the rules as they go along robbing B*stards.
