Is it the only way of getting 200bhp plus out of an st170? (aside from turbocharging).

I know there was a nice black on kicking about which is meant to be animal, have seen some on pistonheads too.

Would they be much faster than an rs?

 

There was a guy called evil bat on the FFOC that did it. Have a look on there

 

Black one recently sold was owned by an FFOC member too. They kick out just under 300bhp with the conversion done well so will give a Stage 1 modded RS a fright. Bolt on charger would probably see 250-280bhp. Will Pedley on here has a supercharged 170 as well you could speak to him. 200bhp+ from a ST170 is achievable would get mid 190s imo from a funkier set of cams plus accompanying modifications but to break a true 200bhp would need to go throttle body route and (differing opinions here with regards to management and VVT) standalone ECU.

 

Have heard that ITB's also give big power increases.

Would these see over 200bhp and how much compared to supercharging?

 

Get a Power Works supercharger kit, by far the best bhp/£ option around.

I drove mates 270bhp one a few weeks back, it rips, even from idle.
