When I sold my EK9, the boy from London never even viewed the car, asked me to immobilise it... which I did... he said to the AA that he had been visiting me, car broke down, he had to return home to London for business and sent them to fix the car. Which they obviously couldn't do, so he made them recover the car to his house.
The recovery guy that came with the flatbed was properly fucking fuming about being sent on the trip!!
Cheers,
Grant

I did it with my calibra when I sent it home once as I needed to get two cars from london to somerset when I moved out my unit up there and could only drive one of them.
Trouble was the RAC sent their star fucking mechanic out, he actually dropped the petrol tank and replaced the split rubber hose I had fitted with a new one! (luckily he didnt spot the good one I had just removed that was in the boot)
I was positive they would trailer it if it was leaking fuel over the tank, which was why I did that particular way of immobilising it in the first place!
Then he got it to fire up with the leak, and was happy that it wouldnt need trailering, so while he wasnt looking I pulled out the fuel pump relay and the thing cut out
He thought it had run out of fuel perhaps so went and got more from a local petrol station to try.
Then when it still wouldnt work he noticed the ecu light not coming on and I was really worried he would notice what I had done, but he had to give up at that point as it had been so long.
TBH I felt properly sorry for him, he was cursing under his breath about messing up his figures etc (I assume they get bonus if they fix a bigger percentage at the road side)
Fair play to him for effort though, he was there about 2 hours in the end
