Im about to inquire about a Escort GTI and possibly go and see it to buy but it says the car is in good condition apart form the drivers side rear arch is starting to go, I know escorts are notorious for this but I was wondering how I would go about getting it fixed and how much it would cost etc, I have a pal with a GTI hes going to break so is it possible to put arches from one car to another? I know this is probs a daft question but as ive said before i know nothing about cars lol

It needs to be cut out and a new section or repair panel welded in. It's not a desperately cheap job to have done. I seem to recall my brother being quoted £380 a side on his missus GTi a couple of Summers ago.

I got a quote on two new sills replacing on my mk6 with me supplying the panels and for them to be painted same colour as car was £400 full sill or £300 for half the sills
