the jack looks similar to my old halfords jack thats been going strong for many years, just the little casters seam to be getting fucked now. i think i might buy 2 so i have 3 jacks to lift the car with nice and easy then as its a pain in the arse lifting 1 side at a time and having to shift around on a gravel drive.
oh and i get over the crap head issue with a good bit of wood.
i've never liked the idea of collapsable axle stands though, never used them but i just don'e like the idea

Sorry but those stands are lethal.
Iv had a set with the same design where the pin holding one the legs sheared off leaving the car to twist slightly which then taken the other stand with it and left the car flat on the floor.
I will now only use solid legged axle stands, none off this fold away shite.

Hmm, ok, general opinion is use the jack but be wary of the axel stands!! Can completely see why, something with a break in them like anything collapsable will be more open to failure i guess.
