Default For bonza car insurace deals

Don't bother with sheilas wheels, or diamond or any other sort of womens insurance companies as it is now illegal to make men pay more than women.

Apparently blokes will get an average of a 10% reduction and women will pay upto 25% more

so Europe ftw

Wonder if the age-ism rules will stop them setting the price based on age as well, that would be fucking hilarious

If there was equal amounts of women to men on the road women would have more accidents. Its just theres are small and cost less. Things like using other peoples doors to know how far they can opens theres, bumpers for knowing when to stop. Things like that

Actually women have less cost in accidents per woman per year than men have per man per year.
Thats nothing to do with the number driving, as its on a per head basis.

The main reason AFAIK is that women do less mileage on average.

Being cheaper to insure means you are less of a risk, it doesnt mean you are a better driver.

Loving the age-ism point

women have lighter less costly acidents, men do it properly, ripping cars in two and taking out trains and stuff

the ageism thing is one i dont want them to challenge in court. yes they might win but if people are stupid enough to think it would mean massively cheaper insurance for young people then you are naive. it would just mean a massive hike in premiums for everyone over 25 as they remove the age factor.

Indeed, it would broadly be older policies going up to match the younger ones not vice versa I suspect.

The way they would then have to counter it is with bigger no claims discounts.

Ie if they triple my policy so its the same price as a 18 year olds, then they will then increase my no claims discount from 70% to 90% so that Im still back paying the same amount.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out!

i reckon by the time we are old then insurance policies wont be worth the paper they are written on as there will be so many exclusions and exceptions that we are all fucked.

I wonder how long it will be before it becomes a matter of course for insurance companies to come after you for the cost of a claim in the same way they do with some other policies such as mortgage shortfall insurances etc???

Ive got one for trade insurance with probably the least confidence inspiring guarentee ive ever read:

We will beat 95% of Motor Trade insurance quotes Guaranteed!

How the fuck do I claim under that guarentee then?

Remember though, that although YOU pay for the mortgage shortfall insurance, that policy ONLY benefits the lender, and then the insurer tries to recover their loss from the policyholder.

I bet the banker who thought that one up got a bonus!

indeed i bet he done well that year!!

but i wonder, the original debt is secured, you get your house repo'd then claim on the shortfall insurance to sebtle the original debt and hence the secure'd loan. then the insurance company goes after you, i presume its an unsecured new debt and hence subject to completely different rules to secured debt or do they have preserved rights from the original mortgage?

Makes you think, what is the point of shortfall insurance when you still remain liable??

The lender makes the claim on the policy, the insurer pays them, but I've never thought about the "debt" situation when they come after you. Guess it must be enforceable, though, because these have existed for years now.
The point is, most lenders won't lend on deals with limited equity without the shortfall insurance.

very good point that, was mentioned on telly this morning.

they might as well, as that those who are the biggest risk should pay the most. it's logical. men are a bigger risk than women so it's silly to say it's discriminatory in my opinion.

in fact they may as well not as take anything into account and have a standard insurance rate.
