Default my escos has to be repainted

ive waited over a year to have my car back from paint shop and now have it back but the problem is the more i work on the car the more i find where they have missed with the paint

i just went to fit the rear windows only to find they have put very little paint on and you can see the primer almost so you will see it when the windows are in, plus they havent laquered one side of the inside of the tailgate and big runs down it

proper pissed off now as ive had to come to a stop as it needs to be redone before i can caryo on, and the inside of the doors need doing where they havnt painted aswell

heres some pics of the paint job lol

top of door where it got damaged forst time, they just blobbed up

bumper damage, bear in mind they wrapped eveything up in bubblewrap ready for collection

this pic you can see bubblewrap imprints where the laquer was still soft i think

and a scratch on this side

the dent in the bonnet which should of been sorted was filled with laquer and left with this

rear side window, you can see where the paint is thin, this is all round aswell

inner door frame where seals run, you can see that the bits arnt painted where the seal wouldnt go so this needs doing, again all round by doors

damage at top of door where panels touched hasnt been repaired, top of door shut

dent in passenger wing

run on under side of bonnet, really hard to get a pic

laquer runs ontop of morrettes

more bubblewrap imprints, this is slam panel and also in boot shut among other places

mopped threw on top of door shut

over spray on door shut

another paint run inside top of door

inner tailgate not laquered one side

3 of these on inside flat edge of tailgate

boot shut with loads of dust in paint and really dull

couple of engine bay with the shit in paint

dent outwards for rear screen jet

a shot of one side to show how flat the paint is there is that much over spray on it

and where they mopped through on the bonnet

its now going to a decent painter at the end of the month now

ive rang trading standards only to find that it will go to small claims court and that the fees would cost more than my return proper fukt off as im a year behond the build now and out of piocket for just over 1k

problem is the car was in stunning condition when i paid them, when it arrived it got damaged on transport so went back for repairs as they arranged collection and delivery, this is how ive got it back, i went down pissed off as they had it for so long so told them they have a week to sort it, when i went down to arrange collection they were just masking the car up to be sorted so i thought they were going to do a good job as i never went back down as the car was being delivered after i got a phone call to say its all done

Shocking mate probably painted in water base shit so will go milky and flat. I work in a bodyshop and I'm not saying our finish is the bollocks but we would never dream
of giving a customer there car back like that. Hope they sort it for you.

Whoever you spoke to at trading standards is an idiot. I suggest you look a lot further into taking them to court.

Going by the fact you say you are out of pocket for about Ł1k, the small claims court fee will be between Ł70 - Ł75 with an additional hearing fee of between Ł75 and Ł100.

The small claims court process takes about 30 weeks at the most.

I can give you a number of a top painter if you want it. He's in birmingham and i can't say anything about him or his work, you'd have to meet up with him and make the decision yourself but i think he'd do you proud.

Joe.

Thats shit mate, shame it was a cash in hand job but surely he must have some sort of responsibility to sort it out? I understand it wont be easy but the car was there that long there must be witnesses you can call on to say it was there having the work done? Hope you get it sorted though fella, best of luck.

I can only 2nd that. you get what you pay for and if your are so skint that 1k is your whole budget for a respray then change the escos to a morris marina.

are you a member of the ghadaffi family as they were just quoted being dillusional on cnn ??

the price all depends on if the car was stripped down before it was taken to the painter.
like the escort here is was stripped so he would save alot on labour.

Even if it was stripped down.. prep and decent paint and then polishing takes time. I know a few places that do work based on your budget so if you have 1k your going to get a 1k job.. if you have 10k your getting a 10k job.. And the final product will reflect that
