Right, a week ago, driving down the M3 not speeding not driving like a loon the tyre pressure waring flashed up on the dash (Mondeo 09 plate TitaniumX). I start to slow down to pull over, but too late, the tyre's destroyed so on went the space saver wheel. Had to drive another 200miles that day, so went to the nearest quickfit to get the tyre changed and being the 18" type, they wern't cheap. Turns out the tyre valve retaining nut had broken off due to excessive corrosion and the valve had failed, destroying the pressure sensor in the process. Then the fight with Ford began. I think it should be covered under warranty, the tyre deflated due to a componant failure of the wheel. So went to the dealer today and got the expected BS answer from the dealer. He showed me his info pack on what isn't covered by warrenty and why. In the pack there was a picture that matched the valve I had in my hand. Ford states the item/described failure isn't covered due to corrosion by excessive road salt or cleaning fluids. Eh? You WHAT!?!? So Ford are basically saying you can't clean your wheels or use the car in the winter. Well gee wizz thanks a f**king bunch. So we're going directly to Ford and they are gonna get both barrels. I understand the dealers hand are tied by Ford, and he looked visable embarresed, but how can Ford make parts they know are susceptible to what I would call normal usage condition. It's a 2 year old top end car, I don't expect bits to start falling off the b**tard. I'm not happy
