Default MIB paid out finally, whoop!

please no men in black jokes, i'm talking about the Motor Insurance Bureau, , 1 or 2 of you may remember my little thread on the drunk driver wiping out 4 cars and not stopping...https://passionford.com/forum/genera...-gggrrrrr.html. anyway, as it turned out the van he was driving had a clone and it was the clone that was insured so the insurance company told me to swivel and as i didn't see why i should lose 7 years of hard earned NCB i didn't claim on my insurance. so i contacted the MIB and put a claim in, during that time the driver was convicted, banned for 46 months, 200 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £500 compensation for causing £18,000 worth of damage?? . £300 of that to me, so i thought "nice one, i can at least replace the car with a little banger with straight rear 1/4's" only to find out he's on the dole and is paying me £5 a month!! so ill be paid off in 5 years, nice. so finally the MIB get back to me, have confirmed that im not telling tales or making up stories, , and have paid me for my fiesta, £825, which i'm well happy with as i can now replace the battered bit of shit with something that doesn't make me look like a twat (well not as much of a twat, ) its taken 5 months but i got there in the end, so for anyone caught up in an uninsured driver crash, don't despair, you can win in the end. that is all.

didn't use my insurance, if i had i was going to lose my NCB, and having never claimed since i past my test at 18 im rather proud of that fact so i went direct to MIB myself, was pretty easy actually, one form and a few calls, job done.
