Anyone had one of these and how good are they? What common problems do they have and what should one pay for a decent one?

Absolutely loved mine, i dont mind admitting i drove mine like an idiot for 2 years, thrashing it everywhere i went but had no problems with it, started as a standard car and ended up with jenvey throttle bodies, cams, exhaust etc brakes werent really the best but i never hit anything so they cant have been all bad lol, interior isnt amazing as you may guess from a 90s Vauxhall but apart from that spot on cars

Never owned one but my sisters boyfriend did I used to borrow it and ragged the shit out of it loved it if they weren't all rusty and fucked now I'd have one and probly drive like a tit ...............em eBay here I come

good cars mate loved mine,engine wont give you major problems but there will allways be little bits,parts are everywere,my shell was rotten,rebuilt the engine and put it in a corsa.

Awesome engines in their day but most are pretty tired now.
Main thing to look out for on the car itself is rust, total killer of these.

Cool cars if you get one in good condition though I reckon

I've had 3 and loved all of them started 1.8 Eco tec then redtop then c20let awesome car and very reliable imo I would have another one too

Although the XE is fundementally a strong engine, they do chew through the bores when they become high milage.
They lip more at 100K than a zetec would for example.
