You could put them out of balance if you skim the OD of a disc mate, I know it is only 5mm a side but if you look at a brake disc they are machined to balance them and you might take this away if you skim them down.

the answer is "yes you can" but the obvious question is "why would you want to?"

unless you have mega large discs which will still accomodate a full pad on whtever disc area is left?

cant you just take a few mm off the inside of the calliper?

should only need a mm or two for that.

True, although it shouldn't be hard to rebalance them, the only problem could be too deep a cut into the vents plus getting a suitable machine to do it,Icoukd have done this for nothing for you a few years back mate!!!

Machining that much off the od should be ok,it's when you try to narrow them the problems occur,I helped produce millions of discs in ford!

I helped make a lot of scrap as well!!!

It's commonly done perfectly safely, very very easy to rebalance, assuming the place has the machine ?, and assuming they need it.

Just checked the pcds myself, granny or galaxy hubs seem to be the same. Ive got some big calipers so Im thinking new hubs and brackets and game on. Im a 17" wheel though so it maybe a case of turning them down til they fit.
