Default Stolen XR3i 130 finally back home !

Hi all .. tanks for all the support when i posted about my 130 being stolen just before xmas .. well after a long drawn out battle with the insurance company it has been dropped off ...

the gits did about 300 miles in 10 days in it and ....
hear is the damage they managed to cause

Smashed the petrol cap into the tank .. so guess that means that has to come off .. never mind the damage to the rear quarter ..

managed to wright off 3 of the alloys

totaled the drivers door .. bent back top and a large scratch/dint

totally belted the ashley manafold which is a total wright off

bent wish bone .. less than 6 months old

snapped the cover off the steering wheel and black boxed it

even managed to bend the bit in the boot where you attach the jack ???

and two holes in the leather drivers seat

they stole the locking wheel nut and the wheel brace

If i ever find out who stole it >>>>><<<<<

well still trying to make a decision on what to do .. rebuild ?

Not sure i would want to rebuild it after knowing some scroats have been looning it about.
Would be glad to have it back but would prob break it up and recoupe some money as we all know our cars are worth more if broken
Thats just my view and after all its your car and well done for getting it back

Regards
Ian

Glad you got it back mate, looks like a lot of work to rectify the damage caused though.

BTW, what does 'black boxed it' mean?

Cheers,
Grant

means they ragged the black box in the pic from behind the ignition barell and then used a screwdriver to start it.

Don't take this the wrong way but surely that's worth literally next to nothing now. What did the insurance company offer you and sell it to you for as the admin costs must be worth more than the car both before and after.

That's a valid point. I guess the fact that they did 300 miles in it was more of a surprise and a total shock to me in the first place!

I'm sorry, I shouldn't put a downer on this post as it's supposed to be happy in an odd kind of way and to show what total fuck wits can do with other peoples property, when they shouldn't take it in the first place. Thieving fucking scum bags

I've just noticed the wheels on the trolley jack have been dented/kerbed so focusv8 can half his estimation. In all fairness the split pins look pretty new ..

no immobiliser of any kind??

maybe its personal as even a theif wouldnt bother with stealing a locking wheel nut key unless they wanted your wheels, and they would have known they were bent so they went to the extra effort just to spite you. Usually they just dump them and burn or dump and run rather than take time.

Good to see you got it back, i would rebuild it as it will give you something to do and if you love it then it will be worth getting back on the road.

Glad you got it back mate, happy days. I'd be interested in seeing what you do with it. Im in the process of tidying up an XR3i 130 and i think they are great little cars that should be kept on the road if poss. As said though, dont know how id feel about owning and driving a car some gutless little pieces of shit have been thrashing the nuts off, and im not being funny but its going to cost you a fair few quid to get that lot sorted. But its YOUR car mate at the end of the day and if you're in no rush to get it back on the road then wheres the harm in fixing it up over a period of time?

Ps, i you do break it, let me know, i need bits! Haha

Good luck with it mate!

Theiving little cuntbags they fucking boil my piss. Glad you got it back mate, happy ending in that respect at least. If its still your pride and joy then get stuck in and get it back to how it was, but if it being stolen has made you lose interest in it then maybe best to cut your losses. Depends how you feel about it at the end of the day. Best of luck with it fella.
