Default excess engine oil after service

Just a quick question if any one can verify, Just had my audi a4 tdi 130 serviced an it now appears after checking the dipstick they have put abit to much oil in it. will this do any harm if left? id say its about 20mm over the max mark, ive also got the left overs (0.5l ) from the 5l tub that was used so 4.5l has gone in it appears according to what ive read on the net it should hold approx 3.8 Litres inc the filter.... Ok to leave it as is or should i try an get the excess out ?

Amount of times you see that happen when cars come back from the garage.....you'd think a mechanic could manage to read a dipstick after all the years of training they have to do wouldn't you
