i do not want to comment about the work that has been carried out or the op.
can both sides not get trading standards involved and let them sort it out.
i know it sounds extreme but it will be an end to the matter.

My advice to Danny would be... If you have no part in EP then keep things separate, get a rep for what you do best not for someone elses work (good or bad)

totally agree

which was what i was getting at that he should do, i fucking hate bad garages and even worse i hate seeing good places close due to being out priced by shite places who never last 5 years, im a tight fucker with spending on cars but its cause i have been burned by shite places in my time so try to avoid using places i dont know if i can

hell i even spent a new years eve on the way to the pub under a car, removing part of the gearbox fixing a problem on a mates scooby that a garage i recomended fucked up out of guilt then went out after i managed to sort the issue

i no longer recomend anyone i just mention names of places i have heard such as stu or paul at north yorks when people want cossie stuff ect

i have seen alot of transit duratorq cracked heads but that is caused by the exact same thing as most people who drive transits dont actually own them and so they are taken in for repair when the issue stops the car from actually driving

its also why we get heads tested now for all headgasket jobs as its alot of money in parts for a transit head job for it to be taken apart again due to a hair line crack being missed

im with you mate, ive seen some many people ripped off by so called experts its untrue, i can understand trying to get 300 bhp out of a cvh is going to be a nightmare but they should not have took the job if they didnt know what they are doing, but a 15 psi s1 aint hard at all to sort out so cant understand how a nice s1 got broke due to so many issues, something went BADLY wrong somewhere!

ive seen it first hand where you take you pride and joy to a specialist and find bits missing, or the parts that where broken already scrapped when you get there so you end up with a 4k bill....

This is why i never leave my car anywhere, set up only while i watch and if somethings fookeed i take it home and sort it myself, sad state of affairs but you cant trust no one imo, i got burnt once many moons ago and learnt my lesson not that there aint good peeps out there

Classic example is rs turbo on rollers bit smokey but we knew it was the valve seals, tuner tells mate turbos fucked, we tell him just tune it up and dont worry about the smoke, gets it home, hour later seals changed and guess what no smoke but people who dont know better would have been right ripped off and still have the same issue after!!, we knew the turbo was ok becauseit came off a mates car as he switched to stage 3 and the car never smoked at all.

Thankfully some customers have a little more faith otherwise we'd all be out of business!

to be honest mate it seems to be rst,s owners who get ripped off all the time, cossie owners seem to be looked after better, we just must be looked at as guillable, my mate gary (goose) with the v reg white escos came to you all the time and never had a bad word to say about you

i think the ford scene is lucky to have such great tuners about eg reyland, nms, msd, scs etc etc even around my way we have turbosystems and gt motorsport and used to have castle performance until the owner lost the plot

its true martin but it completely put me off modified cars for two yrs.

i took the car to this place and it had snapped the front prop on the motor way..... so i know it was going to have broken alot (escos) so i drop it off for inspection....

when i get a phone call i get told the following is broken
front diff
front prop
front drive shaft
sump (but no oil leak lol)
two lugs that bolt the gearbox to block (on mint 200block)
gearbox

so i say i can get the box /sump/ drive shaft but no the front diff ...

so they agree to rebuild my 800mile ashfield motorsport 200block engine into a 205 block as i wasnt full of money, for Ł2500 and get the car back on the road....

but i said im skint and i will pick it up, to which i get told the cars in bits and its Ł500 to put it back together, so i bite the bullet and say go ahead, but tell them im coming to see it, to which everytime i arrange to view they are closed lol.

anyway a few days later i get a phone call the internals of my engine are fecked and ashfield havent rebuilt it properley, so i take their word for this and pay another load of money and buy a bottom end from them...

anyway i say i want to see all the bits but when i get there all there is, is a smashed gearbox, no broken block ect.... (which i paid Ł2500 to replace)
so anyway i pay the money and take the car to run in.. only for it to stop dead and no start twice on the way home, dead battery (was only there a week)

so i run it in and take it back and tell them the fans that were working are not anymore and i ask why half of my loom is on show, they tell me that my prefectly running rebuilt escos had wiring problems, (they could at least tidy it up)

anyway they had agreeded to fit my brand new stage 3 kit and intercooler which they did and set it up, for me to find on the way home it flat spots like made in 4th.... so i phone him back and get told he will sort it..

next day plugs dead / change them / next day plugs dead again.

so i agree a date to return the car by recovery (after finding they have moved) to get there and find them not there again and no answer on the phones.....

so i pay the Ł230 recovery bill and sell the car....

now i swapped that car for a fiesta st that was worth Ł9.5k and Ł500 cash, but i paid Ł13.5k for this car as it was mint and i spent Ł4500 with them so you can see how much i lost from them.

the car was taken to another tuner by new owner and turned out thy had fucked the new chip and the mapping was shit , but once done the car was mint, and i saw it at ace cafe a few weeks ago....

but for me the fiesta st lost alot more as ford dropped their prices by 3k 2 weeks later
so i ended it up with a Ł6.5k fiesta for a 18k cosworth due to shit workmanship

you still dont resort to insults, hes a paying customer and you try to sort it out so both parties are satisfied, surely thats good business practice!

Are ep sorting out these people issues, i dont know as its going to be expensive when it involves turbos welded to manifolds etc........

i do agree with what you say gaz and its a shame that a company has to resort to insults and it shouldnt happen but if luke/danny/ep/or trotters independent trading what ever its called believe there right in whats happened yet the judgement has already been passed on them on here,i can kind of see why he might loose his "rag"

to me this could be sorted without fuss, pay for morphs mapping as i think thats the only issue he had, rebuild d4,s car as its fucked and only lasted less than a week, maybe a nice 230 bhp spec which will be reliable with johns s1 i dont know as he has broke the car now but as i read it he has kept an ecu and loom which he promised to return, so get together and iron out a compromise, then stick to cossies as no one with them seems to have issues with ep,s workmanship.

i must say that this is turning into an assasination of eps reputation.
the problem i find with customers is the statement "my mate says....." and 99/100 the mate doesnt know the full story.
the only way to solve this is for ep and the op to sit down and talk, not throw insults at each other.
