Default Megasquirt / YB ICV

Ive got a YB throttle body on my clio now, but havent yet wired in the idle control valve.

Im on Mtec V4, which is the same software as megasquirt bascially.

Was wondering if any of the people on here with MS (Ive noticed a few of the RST boys have it) have used it with the YB ICV and fancy giving me a copy of their settings to use as a starting point.

I just need to know the frequency basically and the rest should be just a case of trial and error, im guessing a couple of hundred hertz?

I've done it on a couple of engines, it's no where near 200hz. Can't remember what it is, but the base setting is multiplied to get the actual frequency. I'd have to look on my mapping laptop to give you the settings.

Start with 20hz. I found this value by google'ing it last year and found the spec sheet for the valve, but i can't remeber where it was. I use this value in my SM4 too and it works fine

Cool, thanks Wes.
Will try 20Hz then, ive got a spare if the worst happens and thats too low.
(by the worst happen I mean: too low a frequency=too long in on state= melt, hence I was working on the basis of using a very high guess)

50% PWM at 20 Hz is exactly the same on and off time overall as 50% PWM at 200 Hz

the frequency is only important to reduce hysterisis of the valve position.

No its not, there is more time spent opening and closing and less in a held position when its on a lower frequency (as the open and shut times dont alter when the frequency does) its during the time where its held open that you get more heat build up than while its moving.

you sure that's the right way around?
