I would get yours rebuilt, that way you know it's effectively new, they can do hyper mileage if treated well, ie thrashed every now and again getting the oil nice and hot, not the pussy driving most do that kills engines.
I think your best bet is to take yours apart first, that way you know precisely what needs doing, but as a very rough guide it will be influenced massively by the piston cost(around £400), so I'd budget around £850-£950 for a bottom end build doing it yourself.
As for paying someone else the sky's the limit!!
