Default Mk 1 Esc yb rad

Hi evening all , can anyone advise me what thermo switch to use for these conversions , my friends car has the radiator(alloy) with the cap at the top with the wrong fan switch installed . We have a ford switch but its got 86 degrees and 77 stamped on it. Being alloy would this create the fans to run on forever so to speak ?
Would an uprated one like stu supplys be better in this situation ? The bay is of course tight and obviously will suffer more than say a saph/3door

Many thanks

Mike

If the wiring's up to it the std switch will be fine, just need to match the stat temp to it, I'd use a 82C with that.
The problem with the std switch was the hysterisis(range/span) being so large with not the best airflow in the world it was on a huge amount of time on substandard wiring from new, with the better flow of the mk1 escy it will be fine with a alloy rad, will cool perfectly.
