Default help restoring xr2i

hi ive been on here a while but havent realy posted that much on here but i think now i will

right where shall i start....

i got pulled over by the police and vosa a few weeks ago who checked my car and found out that i needed 2 new tyres so that told me to get that done and then get it re tested as they couldnt check all over the car.
so i then took it for a mot when i got the tyres done and found out that all four subframe mounts are badly corroded and offside seat belt is badly corroded too.
so i was going to sell it but then my dad said that he wouldnt mind working on it ( think its an excuse to get a break from gf)
now i got to find a floor pan!? and get to work

has anyone done one before who could give me an idea on how hard it will be??

i really wanna get it sorted as i have always loved them and i would love to keep it for years to come

well i think thats it but any help would be great

many thanks all

tasha

You can't get replacement floor pans for mk3 Fiestas

all you can do is just cut out the rot and patch it up.

or, cut the floor from another good mk3 in the scrappy and weld that in place. plenty resto threads in the resto section (funnily enough) to see what sorta works involved

OR reshell it to a good shell, quicker and maybe better in the long run?

p.s. welcome..

There is a new shell on ebay that might be worth buying instead as it will work out cheaper and easier.

hi there as you proberly know fiestas are very prone to rotting fast so get the best rust prevention stuff you can get like zinc primer and such, also cut out all the rust dont just patch over it as it will continue to grow fast

im very familiar with fiestas and know exactly were to look as ive had a few and still got 2 (check out h202xam and k163trh in resto room) so if you find the welding is too much for you and your help id be happy to come up to you as your not far from me and do it for you cheap as im a professional welder that loves fiestas

you should do a resto thread coz we need more fiestas on here, jon
