Default Boost issues...

Since I had my Focus T190 it has 2 main issues. First up is a poor idle and the car dies a few seconds after being started first thing in the morning. Even if the throttle is pressed. The idle is only 700- 750rpm and often struggles. Thinking ICV but any advice helpful.

Also, when the car is coming on heavy throttle boost (3000rpm to 4000rpm) in 3rd, 4th or 5th, and very occasionally 2nd, it either stutters or makes a "machine gun"-esque popping and won't go. Pressing the pedal lighter and it goes fine though. It's running direct due to the Amal being damaged and I'm trying to work out what's happening. There are no EMLs and the car has a decat, otherwise standard T190 spec. Mountune don't seem to want to know unless the car goes to them which is a HUGE hike.

Anyone able to offer any pointers? Compression was done and ok a while back and car had new pistons and turbo rebuilt about 5year/15000miles ago. Also checked plug gaps. I'm thinking maybe actuator failed.

I have the same issue with my 06 st since serviced(oil, filter, plugs chaned and induction kit cleaned) but no idea what's causing it. Could be a leak in the boost pipe or dirt on the MAF sensor.

Is the ECU going into Over-Boost protection?

No it just shudders bad at peak torque and is fine again as the boost drops back to 3/4.
