Default nightmare

where do i start, ill give the short story

bought a mk2 xr2.sripped it and it was so full of rust the titanic laughed at me

so im going to be buying a s2 escort rs turbo and i dont like the mfi so i will be or i will pay someone to do it for me.

no then,i have read on the rs bible that you can just bolt the frst head and inlet onto the block and then need to fit the crank position sensor on the block and flywheel to run on efi(would pay someone to do that.

just 1 more thing, the fuel.am i right in thinking i will ned to use a external swirlpot and pump for this set up.

I THINK (?????) that the heads are identical etc and you just need to drill/mount a crank sensor somewhere near the gearbox,of course you need the flywheel from an efi so the sensor can read the holes in the fly to run the car.

Fuel pump wise I'm not sure you need to worry to much about the existing set up as the mfi boosts fuel pressure via an accumulator so theoretically you should be ok just using the original mfi pump to power the efi system as efi runs on lower pressures than mfi.

dont forget you need an efi flywheel.

juts copied the parts list from the rs bible

A list of parts required for Converting a S2 ERST to EFi, using the XR3i Loom method:

OFAC Fiesta turbo ECU. (OFAB can be used but takes a little bit more work, and will be discussed a bit later)

Ecu related MAP sensor. (OFAC ecu will need an OFAC MAP sensor)

Fiesta turbo engine, or mixture of adapter plates and a trigger for the CPS.

EFi inlet manifold, throttle body and charge carrier

ACT sensor, from the fiesta turbo

Throttle body to charge carrier pipe, still available from Ford at the moment!

EFi flywheel, Fiesta RS, XR2i, XR3i (EFi)

XR3i EFi whole loom

XR3i Throttle cable and pedal

EDIS Module and coil pack etc from XR3i (or Fiesta RS)

where's my flexible friend gone.
