Default Saph weight

How much does a fully specced 4x4 saph weigh and whats the lowest weight you have got it down too whilst still being road legal

I think they weigh round about 1250kg

Theres barely nothing in it mate, I forget the exact figures but I know the 4x4 is still 12xx KG.

Fair enough,

I thought with the running gear , aircon etc it would of been a fair bit more.

Last time i went on a weigh bridge it was quite abit more..... maybe i should find somewhere where the bloke working there didnt look in two directions at once lol

My 2WD Sapph is 1050 but that's with no interior, plastic windows and all the Ford wiring removed.

so im guessing the 500's heavier due to the lower spoiler and the extra flap or lighter due to the longer cutout and middle of the top section of the bumper cutout

Dont forget it has the battery tray cut, so that would make it alittle lighter

good point but then it has a bigger turbo and extra plenum and rail etc and then diffrent splitter, and then the alternator drop down bracket

My standard 2wd weighed 1220kg on the local weighbridge ( accurate to +/- 15kg ) with a stainless exhaust on and standard wheels and about 1/4 tank
"Autocar" test 2wd one was 1206kg kerb
"Motor" test 2wd one was 1240kg

"Autocar" test 4wd was 1305kg kerb

I have just dug my RS brochure out and that lists the 4x4 as 1300KG, I learnt something as well haha.

the brigde i was on was +/- 20kg and weighed in @ 1390 with half a tank of fuel, 17" and stainless exhaust. Although it was a electric roof/ aircon model :S

just mad my bhp per ton alot better as i had been working on 2wd@1400kgs for some reason

The Autocar test 4wd had a manual sunroof and no aircon - was a G-plate. Your wheels might add a couple of kilos at each corner depending on spec

i need to weigh mine, my mates got a weigh bridge on his farm, i always thought sierras were heavy but thet are not really, my old mk2 seat leon was 1400kg with a splash of fuel in it.

Yes, they don't have the stiffening, sound/crah protection of newer cars.

Also have a newish Cooper S with a sunroof/aircon/heated leather... and that is 20kg heavier than the Sapphire

I got mine wieghed at a bridge a few years ago, and fully loaded (seats/subwoofer etc) with 3/4 tank of fuel and myself it was 1315kg.
