paid £2800 for it which seemed alot tbf, i wouldnt pay over £50 for anything vauxhall now. My mate had a astra gsi turbo which went through 3 k24's, a afm ( with a cone filter) lambda sensor x2, boost pipes ( lower infront of bumper) and various other shit! i had to replace all that 2 years ago, car only did 50k too!

My mate was gonna get a vxr afm, injectors, another vxr turbo, front mount and 3" top hat etc but never took off as he had to sell it.

Fords sporting line up is pretty shite at the moment. Focus is ok with the ST and RS, but obviously that's all going to change now with a new Focus coming out, so no doubt we'll end up waiting years and years for another RS.

And they seem to have lost the balls to make a Mondeo or Fiesta ST.

I don't like most of the Vaux range, but at least they have the guts to make proper performance variants of most models!

LOL no of course not with the Focus still being the best selling car not only in it's class but also in the UK/World or the Mondeo that has won many awards, both far superior to the Vauxhall equivilants. The new Fiesta is proveing to be quite successful as well and I don't recall them being dangerous either unlike Vauxhalls.

jamsport charged fiesta st? 350bhp standard bottom end? yes please!

Focus took over the 306 for the uks best family hatchback and i dont think its changed since? mondeo is obviously one of the best cars in the world ( apart from mk3 tdci pmsl) But the new mk4 mondeo ghia tdci's are so nice to drive!

you talking about playing around with them tho that will cost thousands to do that!the standard st is not that a good a car specially if you compare it to a corsa vxr

True the Focus was a success from new it made all the other cars look dated not just phisically but technically to, I have the Autocar mag when the then new Focus was put again all rivals of the time, so Megane, 306, Bravo, Astra etc where it beat each of them in every test, it was crowned as the best hatch then 306 diden't even make it to the final 3 IIRC.

Other manufacturs target the Focus handling when it comes to there equivilants as a bench mark so speak.

Woulden't go as far to say Mondeo is the best car in the world lol, best seller maybe, it's certainly loved by the public and reps alike which gave it the name we know as "Mondeo Man" and as an overall package it is brilliant.

I actually meant in the UK, as you say you have the RS/ST but there again Vauxhall only have the VXR don't they as a hot model so far as I know? I know you get like SRI/SXI which AFAIK is the equivilant to Zetec S trim?

The Focus has won multiple awards one being a German award for most reliable car so thats one up for a start.

So self releasing handbrakes arn't a major problem then?

LOL where was you? It was all over news etc, owners got letters telling them to bring there cars back urgently, affected Vectra, Corsa, Signum etc, scary stories on Watchdog about peoples cars rolling away luckily no one got killed, Vauxhall diden't know what it was, Watchdogs independant experts thought it to be with a spring in the mechanism that if there was a vibration it caused them to release. Though hopefully it did teach owners this is why you shoulden't reply on your handbrake alone, which is what most seem to do.

Then there was the other dangeous recall with the Meriva steering.

No true about the modern turbo charged models but there again with Vauxhalls handling history is this a good thing, look at the Vectra VXR for example?

Ford did drop the 2.5t lump in the S-MAX but I can't really see much point in this, same with the Zafira turbo.

I think Vauxhall got it spot on with the Corsa VXR, it certainly looks the part and sounds it too, with the right exhaust! I can't comment on what they drive like as I haven't had a bash yet. C'mon Ford, get a new Fiesta and strap a big dutty turbo to it lol!

If its the car I think it is he isn't talking out of his arse.

The guy owns 2 Z20LET's pushing some serious numbers, quite ammusing that its in a Zafira of all things.

Chip did the Total Vauxhall feature on it.

Yeh I had heard the same, no idea how true the figures are but they are DD rollers so hey, they should be spot on.

I did also hear it broke a block in half or something though so ended in true Vauxhall style !

13 seconds with what terminal and what 60ft?

If your trying to imply its not massive power just because a fwd and heavy car with full interior and normal road tyres took 13 seconds to run a quarter I think you are too used to cars quite a few hundred kg less in weight.

Zafiras are NOT good at launching, I dont know the exact power of Ateeurs corsa when it ran the quarter you are on about but it was certainly "lots" to be managing to get an old bus like that to accelerate so hard on the 2nd 1/8th that it ran a 13 despite a crap start.

Bear in mind that Rod tarry with 650bhp was only doing high 11s and his car is a lot better off the line than a Zafira is.

Ateuur is a cool guy and one with a lot of money to spend, and the new turbo is one specifically created by Owens for him with that sort of power in mind, this isnt some random blower bought off eBay etc, he is doing things the right way although personallyI think he should go aftermarket on the management.

I know him quite well now as I did the features of his zafira and his corsa c, and he's a proper petrol head and isnt interested in making up figures, all the figures quoted are what he has been told by the rolling road, wether that set of rollers reads slightly higher or lower than another set I cant tell you.
