Default Will RAC recover my cabriolet thats been in storage?

Hi all.....

Random question. My RS Turbo cabriolet is currently stored at my mates garage, his recovery vehicle is currently off the road. I am intending to get my cabriolet back to mine in the next few weeks but its not taxed, tested or insured and its currently a non-runner.
If I rang RAC would they recover my vehicle from my friends garage to my house (3-4miles). Im on personal cover, home start and recovery to anywhere in UK.

It's quite a good question, your "Home Start" cover would apply as you have a non runner, so long as they don't getting running LOL otherwise you willl be stuck.

So long as they recover the car on the lorry I would think it dosen't matter if it's road legal.. It may be worth reading the "Small Print" as it may state in there cover only applies to a road legal car as not sure how the insurance situation would work.

I believe the car needs to be taxed before they will touch it.

If you tell them the truth prob not. If you push car onto the road just before they arrive and claim it has broken down you might get away with it !. Other options are to tow it as its only 4 miles or borrow an A frame and you can tow it on your own

the idea of breakdown cover is if you breakdown they will get you started,,,,, then if not recover you

they aint a towing service

needs tax, mot and insurance as part of the rules under " road worthy" but they just look for tax generally
