Ford Cougar runabout
im looking to buy a ford cougar as a runabout, the v6 24v xpac one.
ive always liked them and fancied owning one for a bit.
Anything to watch out for when im looking, known faults, usual rusting areas, etc...
who's in the know.

Got the v6 cougar myself look at rear sub frame can rust bad like mine! to get new off ford £300, engines are strong if looked after mines on 100k + and still good bit slow but ST200 parts deal with that and for handeling just a thicker rear roll bar is needed and good wheels but for a run about very good Iv had mine allmost 2 years no faults at all.

One thing I noticed was one of the cars was lowered, not massively, but it played havoc with the abs, pedal pump job under any sort of braking?might be something they've sorted now but worth considering.
Loads of boys had these when I worked in the ford plant and I never remember any major issues with them, cheap as chips now as well.

They can rust a lot on the body, only surface but all over it seems?I looked at a few for a mate and he bought a minter in the end but there were a lot of sheds about, and this is going back 6-7 years ago.

It wont be our everyday car, we have a diesel picasso for that, it does 50mpg and £120 a year road tax. The cougar will be my car for nipping out in.
