i loved the owo1's and rc30's,proper race reps with high gearing to match,70+ in first.....lol
some yam owners were putting in 1000 exup engines in their owo1 frames if i remember right
plus the quality of finish/build would be hard to match today..........

Turned into quite a good thread with some very intresting replies

I also quite fancy a RGV 250 but there hard to find now , everything 80"s is getting expensive

Chips wardrobe must be worth a fooking fortune as he still dresses like the 80"s

Its a classic trend, people in the forties with spare cash wanting to own what was top of the tree back when they could not afford it.

I think a lot of it is peaking now, but then again I said that about property in 2001 and that then doubled again

Clever money would be looking at early/mid nineties stuff now and stashing it while its cheap. Early mint Blades would be a good bet, Ducati 916 that sort of thing I imagine.

got to agree with you ,its the middle age crisis wanting something that they owned in the 80s,but to be honest alot of the stuff rides and looks hidious but still very collectable, ive bought lots of cars and bikes over the years what we had back in the day and you forget how bad they are compared to modern stuff, like the brakes handling ease of riding/driving,
The one thing i can say is though you allways get more looks on or in something thats not seen everyday, and complete strangers will come and talk to you about what your riding / driving ,,
would luv a big enough room ,to house some 70s and 80s bikes

I remember when I first went out on my rd500 after buying it in 1995, (people had pretty much forgotten about them back then) me and a mate on his RG500 went to a local Sunday meet, and we pulled up on our smokey noisy old 2 strokers and the place was full of born again bikers on brand new blades, gsxr750s 916s etc all of them in matching leathers.

All eyes just turned on us, it was like walking into a biker bar you could hear a pin drop, but as soon as we took our lids off they came across to take a look all gushing as these were the bikes they had back then, they loved them and you could tell they were going to be a classic soon enough.

We had major thumbs up when we left as well, I was grinning all the way home.

Going back to the owo1. are all fzr750 these or is the owo1 different to normal fzr750s? Just remembered on of my sisters ex boyfriends used to have 2 owo1's. he used to race one in a classic series and have one for spares or i think he was going to do it all up. Not seen him for a few tears though

I think urban tiger was the 2nd blade. It's around that age. I'll go google to check.
Has he had that since new?

Pics?

The tiger was the update paint scheme of the original blade started dec 93.
