are far as im aware there isnt a pats system on the mk5 rs2k, just mk6.

whats up with the car itself?

there is an alarm system usualy fitted in the drivers footwell just behind the kick panel closest to the doors, the plug on that sometimes comes loose which stops the car starting, can also pull the plug off and bridge to of wires to remove it completely,

Yeah the Mk5's have an external PATS module hidden behind the glovebox.

Apparently the is a way to bypass it in the loom? As i dont have the the chipped keys

Theres nothing wrong with the car. I will eventually be doing a conversion. I will be using a Mk6 RS loom. So i need to adapt that to fit a Mk5 ECU

I thought PATS involved a transponder and such? In which case there are none on the mk5.

But I think there is a basic imobolizer?
