for the mk1 focus i dont believe there is a plug in kit for towbar im afraid.later fords have preporation for a trailer module to be plugged into the system but not mk1 focus.
best way of joining it into the light harness is to strip back a section of wire, integrate the new loom, solder insulating tape, much tidier looking job

Mk1 Focus tow socket electrics
I agree. Better to solder. I'm looking to install a tailer socket soon to my Mk1 focus. My question is, do I need one of them 7 way smart bypass relays with their seperate 12v supply from battery or would I get away with piggy backing off the existing wires. I would definately install the buzzer relay for the indicators though in any case but was thinking of soldering stop/tail wires into existing loom. My old trailer only does the occasional trip to the tip (no caravan etc). Any ideas guys would be appreciated thanks?
