Very nice !!!
I am no expert on diesel tuning but the fact you have smoke shows you have alot of unburnt fuel.
Do you know if this fuel excess is used to control cylinder pressures/temeperatures ?
If not, you need more boost....or less fuel...

very nice bobby i have a (110) a3 TDI full miltek exhaust, large nozzles, remap, lift pump few other bits, but i have a pd150 turbo, 3 bar map sensor and front mount to go on i think these should go well i'm only looking to hit 200hp but i think i may need another remap after the latter half... your thread makes a good read as TDI's dont get much info thrown about for novices to 'tune/mod' themselves...

Thanks guys.
Simon good questions - the nozzles are actually too small for 300hp and are forced to injected for longer (injection duration) in crank angles. This means I end up with smoke in attempt to get my injected quantity up for the hp. This of course increases PCP and can distory the head gasket or even worse.
Its why i will upgrade the nozzles and hopefully have stock duration and lowering the PCP.
ps in a PD engine the injectors are driven by the cam.

WOW thats impressive, some serious work gone into that engine!!
I had a tuned diesel and i just could not live with the smoke :-( i was almost ashamed to put my foot down as i knew what would happen lol. But then again your motor would not hang about long enough to care. Diesel tuning is the future im sure.

i never used to think much of diesels but once i got one i see why people buy them. looked up a remap and the amount of power and torque increase for 3-400 quid is amazing. ive got a bora pd130 and had just a remap and took it to 172 bhp and 262 lb/ft torque. not long after tho had the clutch start to slip and had to have a new DMF.
still looking into more power tho. that golf looks a mad sleeper. good work!
