its my brothers corsa combo van

y reg 2001, 1.7d izuzu engine 59bhp...power house lol

the van is clean as a whistle and he got it for a bargain price so its probs worth fixing, he needs it for work

theres alot of oil ingress into the water and its became quite smokey, tell tale signs of head gasket, but also is it possible that the head might be cracked due to the sub zero temperatures we have had ?

im wondering if its worth just replacing the head anyway instead of taking a chance on it just being the gasket ?

if the gaskets blown then i'd recommend getting the head skimmed anyhow
so just get it pressure tested while its at the engineer shop
that way you know for sure anyhow
either its cracked and you do need a new 1
or if its fine then you've saved yourself a few quid

you'll prob get a good second hand lump from a scrappy cheaper than having head done. Ten a penny now those engines.

£350-£500 for 1 of those engines from breakers
they suffer from oil pump probs so common to rattle thee engines
good sellers these engines, only cost £100 to do the head
