Great engines, mine did loads of drift days on the limiter. Even used to do the production car races on the oval at matchams with it.

It took loads of abuse for 4 years before it let go and even then it only bent a valve.

Plus they sound awsome when bouncing of the limiter with a ashley manifold and system.

yep, that R134a is terrible. it just floats away out of all the holes. be careful not to breath it in or you'll talk like joe pasquale

and at what temperature is 5w30 thinner than 10w40?

It has been done, as there is a thread on here where someone has shown pics of one with it, don't know how hard it would be though, fair bit of work I should think as the Zetec is a FWD unit.

I wouldn't waste my time to be honest, my twincam was upto 145bhp without a hell of alot done.

they all tapped for a few seconds on start up,practically from new until oil got up,more milage the extra second it done it

was always a smoooth engine

i have one in my escort mk1 dohc 8 valve usiing nitrous in it ..

amazing engine im the only one using it in drag racing here ..
some cam changes and and mods and you have a 10 secd engine ..

best Et was 10.91@122mph ....i only need to buy a spare oil pump but on the whole im very happy with it since 1997 ...regarding tappets i made them solid and working properly..
