Great engines, mine did loads of drift days on the limiter. Even used to do the production car races on the oval at matchams with it.
It took loads of abuse for 4 years before it let go and even then it only bent a valve.
Plus they sound awsome when bouncing of the limiter with a ashley manifold and system.

Testing the future
The system may need to be topped-up every couple of years due to natural seepage though as the R134a is a slightly lighter gas.
Use a good 10w40 semi-synthetic oil, some will tell you to use 5w30, but it is too thin on most of these engines and will leak from most places.

i have one in my escort mk1 dohc 8 valve usiing nitrous in it ..
amazing engine im the only one using it in drag racing here ..
some cam changes and and mods and you have a 10 secd engine ..
best Et was 10.91@122mph ....i only need to buy a spare oil pump but on the whole im very happy with it since 1997 ...regarding tappets i made them solid and working properly..
