Default RST - wht wld cause overboost?

Alright chaps an chapettes, had the old bean tin (s1) out tonight, all was well till discovered when u bring the boost in fast it splutters (plug leads are w4nk so i assume it is them) but another problem, its only set up std, app got a turbosystems chip and a -31 but got it set up on a RR for std boost etc etc, but anyway, when u give it some (slowly so as not to get a miss fire ) i saw the boost guage creep upto 12psi its all piped up std to amal valve etc, no bleed valve and hasnt done this before when it used to hold 7/8psi max..what the fudge could be the problem cos im stumped help wld be appreciated my dear friends

Would a vacum leak cause it to over boost? it can be a pain to start from cold if its sat over night floods with cold start plugged in but seems to start better if its unplugged! i suppose that could be signs of a vac leak....

thanks mate.

Spluttering is NOT over boost. Over boost cuts the engine completely and will only restart when you lift off and then put you foot back on the throttle.

Spluttering sounds like a fueling issue or spark blow out...

euan, plugs are new, leads are shite tho i thot because of the cold it wuld maybe hit 9psi MAX as it never goes over 7psi??

Daz i think its 2 seperate issues, when u bring the boost in fast it splutters and the othe rissue is it hitting 12psi and i think it would of went more but its piped up standard, no bleed valve, blah blah so HOW can it hit 12psi if te actuator wld only be set for 7ish? its a -31 mind HELP lolol

Mine did similar on the way to the PF meet on Weds

Dropped to 4th and gave it some and rather than seeing the usual 25psi the little needle buggered off past 30
