Ive just bought a wrx a couple of months ago for the winter. Its an m reg classic shape. Its 380bhp and to be honest im quite impressed with it. Its really quick off the mark and gets its power down nicely. Best bit about it is i got it for next to nothing cos the lad said the engine was knackered! what he hadnt realised was he'd filled it with diesel. long story short drained the diesel out, put new filter on, 20 quids worth of superplus, fired straight up sweet as a nut. mate of mine loves his scoobys, had them for years, think he is on his sixth now IIRC. his last one was a genuine 400+bhp car, he imported it from japan, engine was built by a well know tuner over there, and it was like a rocket, the way it accelerated, and the way the speedo went round to silly numbers in no time, was genuinely frightning. i drove it a couple of times, didnt even push it that hard, and its one of the quickest cars ive ever driven.

What's the spec, turbo etc? Seems strange for someone to have one so modded to not know he'd filled with diesel and then give it away. Lucky buy.
Most powerful one I've had made 360/360. I bought it as a knackered sti type r then fitted a 2.5 engine with p1 heads, fmic, td05-20g turbo lateral modded injectors, parallel fuel mod, walbro, 3" system, power fc mapped by JGM. Prob was slightly more on the road as it was mapped from scratch on the rollers and was getting warm when it made that power then it was finished on the road.
It was really fast to me, genuinely impressed with the punch as it made all it's torque by 3,500rpm. Had my mate shifting back in his seat on the way home form mapping.
I've got a bugeye sti wagon currently which is pretty much stock and it's pretty impressive for a stock car, jdm model and it flies really.
My mrs has a uk turbo wagon, last of the classics on a Y reg and only 47k, it's a really great car. I love imprezas myself.

Quite impressed with 380bhp in a classic, you must be used to some animals haha.

Got bored with mine at circa 400bhp, now building a 2.5ltr with a 35R.
Hugely capable, A to B its quicker than 99.9% of anything else on our roads.
Doesnt stir the soul like a cossie does though mate... nothing does

I've loved each of my Imprezas (6 in total now..) for various reasons... my 350/400 STi with the 2.5 was an epic drive because of all the torque, the fact it was brand new and looked slightly different because of the few mods I did to the outside.
But my 340/320 UK Turbo with JDM STi Spec C 6-speed conversion was absolutely amazing and was definitely my favorite, it went like a bullet and got to big numbers very quickly... if it had been a Wagon then without a doubt I'd have kept hold of it so people could have used it for carting the dogs around in.
Cheers,
Grant

Good cars imprezas, but as said a tad to common right now, probably cos they don't rot badly!!!
Never had any bother with mine aside from an alternator which never actually stopped it from going.the only downside was fuel consumption but I think that was down to a dodgy lambda sensor and cat as we swapped it for a good one off another car and he reckoned it was pretty good on fuel.
I'd love another but it would be either a 2 dr classic or a bug eye model.

i dont know what makes you think they dont rot i went to look at 5 rb5's every one had bad back wheel arches one i went to see would have needed 2 1/4 panals as there was holes in both sides. i do like them tho id love a good clean rb5.
