im just trying to find out if you only need to change the front wings on the mk3 escort to convert it to a mk4 as a friend wants me to fit a series 2 rst kit and front and rear bumpers

And cut ya towing eye off: it won't fit where the S2 front bumper sits. side skirts can be a bit tricky fitting properly as well..end up with a big arc in the middle of the skirt where it attaches to the underneath.

As per Tillio... To Fit S2 bprs and Kit you need front wings, scuttle, front panel and bonnet, cant see why you need different back panel unless want S2 rear lights and I didnt have any problems whatso ever fittting S2 kit to MK3 shell ?????
The front crossmember doesnt need to be changed just an extra bit of plating welded in to add strength..

well ive fitted s2 kits to mk4 xr3i's before and that was easy ive replaced wings and such like on all sorts of cars but i cant see why back panel would have to be changed either,

As above, frnt wings, scuttle pannel, bonnet, front/slam panel and added some strength to the standard front crossmember just some sheet steel bent to angle and welded in.. I also seem to remember adding some heavy gauge steel behind front panel/under arches for the outer bumper bolts.
I was running a RS1600i ARB which didnt have a towing eye anyway
