love the stripes fitted both decals and the xr3i door moulding.

i'd say its 46k miles, its a dealer i have had cars from and thats what they are like.
or it could be round the clock miles and be showing only 46 which is way too much.

they do have some very nice cars and the crap about Ford vouchers is true,you could get a further discount with a employee ticket.

It's had 21 services so it must only be 2 miles to the dealer to clock up only 46 miles.

the fella who works there doing the ads probably can't remember that there was 2 types of red rsturbos and typed rosso

early rosso and late radiant unless its a ringer or had a repaint the wrong colour,it will happen in the future when people who paint white rs's frozen white get pulled up because it should be diamond haha

Just had a look at this and this is unbelievable no way has that car done just 46 miles - 46K maybe yes.

Anyway why does it have

1) an 88spec bumper
2) an 88spec spoiler
3) 90 spec Zolda interior ??????????

Also that does appear to be Rosso red (notice dodgy dull tinge to the front bumper in last photo (tell tale sign)

Now Rosso red = early 88spec D and E plates IIRC but its on an 89 plate apparently????

But £9990 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those stripes and side mouldings etc devalue it by about £5k on their own - £4 to £5000 motor at best.

Why do some dealers just feel its their duty to mug people off when it comes down to low mileage RS motors (if it is infact low mileage)????????????????

Some mug could actually end up paying nearly £10k for that - omg !!!!!!

early g reg 89 cars had the earlier bumpers & interior. no where nere 46k let alone 46 look at the seats they've swaped sides & the amount of wear on what would have been the drivers side outer top bolster's more like over 100k

for your information back in 1989 on a uk f or g reg you could get a escort rs turbo in radiant red with the early type bumper and spoiler and later type recaros as fitted in the 90 spec escort rs turbo.

a good hr with a hair dryer will remove the decals and hopefully the side moulding though.

look if you read the ad it was a old guy who bought it and old people do stuff like that,its all part of the charm of buying one owner cars and to be honest i'd rather buy off a old codger who probably loved and cared for his rs and remove his enthusiastic stripes than fix a rotten shed owned by a druggy criminal

Fair comment - does look a bit like they guy got bored one sunday and went to Halfords and couldnt find anything to buy so purchased a stripe decal kit and thought "yeah i know what i will do with this - i will wrap it round my RS and even wrap it across the bonnett"

i had and saw f reg 89's with the same spec as the link in the 1st post.

its funny when people either do not know this or can't remember,i must be a rs turbo expert from the 80's-90's or somthing

See i have had two 88spec (E and F reg motor's) and currently a Feb 89 on 90 spec.

Its just something about this one that doesnt seem right !!

Its the mixmash of parts that does it for me and the lack of consistency between 88 and 90 spec parts and the colour as well - is it radiant red or rosso red ?????

that is true,i had a radiant red f plate 89 with early bumpers and spoiler but had 90 spec interior including heated front screen and trip/fuel computer
grey interior was stated on the original bill of sale too

Absolutely !!!!!!! That is a far better example for the right money as well - hence why i say the co selling the red one are mugging people off - just confirms that £4k to £5k max for the red one is correct.

I thought that about the seats as well, there's definate signs of wear on the inner bolsters.

i sold mine last march for £4200, 42k miles and was very good condition, 3 owners. chap i bought it of owned it 16 years

89 f reg rs turbos and 89 xr3i's for that matter were available in radiant red for sure.
88 f reg rsturbos and 3i's in red were rosso red.
