i was thinking about getting a zetec bottom end 4
my erst but was wondering how long the engine would
last if i just put a standard 1800 or 2litre bottom end in
and ran it on a low boost setting,what work needs doing
to put the cvh head on 1 of these blocks

Pick up this months issue of Fast Ford, they have a feature with Mad-4-It where they show you how to do it.

Mad-4-It also do a 'Conversion' Kit for £300 with everything included except the bottom end, though if you get the bottom end to them they will prepare it ready for you.

There's not alot of work to do for the conversion, if you're mechanically minded then you should have it done in a day or 2 at the most.

You shouldn't need to worry about low boost but I would reccomend new cams. Will push the budget up but well worth it, make sure you have enough cash for a dyno & tune to set her up properly.

ok cheers 4 that,i did see that feature but just wasnt
sure on the boost settings with a standard zetec bottom
end,i know that it would still hav a bit of power off boost
but wasnt sure how much boost the standard zetec bottom
end could handle thats all

 

any help with this would be much appreciated
