Default my mate is going to bump his credit card to buy dream car..

lol firstly this isnt me lol

he is planning to purchase a escort cosworth on his credit card then bump the payments lol

he says he lives in a council house and doesnt work, all the stuff in the hpuse can be classed as his missis so he thinks they cant really take a lot from him

hes planing to make an excuse as to what happended to the car ie he sold it later on and by pure bad luck the cash got stolen from his car etc etc and hel prob report it to the police so can prove with a crime number

he will then go buy another cossie

thats way he can prove he no longer has the funds from the 15k credit card

he dont gie a shite about being blacklisted etc

in a bizzare kinda way sounds feesable way to get the car of your dreams lol

What probs is he likely to encounter? as it looks like hes looking for a escort cossie next month from a dealer that accepts credit card i presume

I'm surprised the bank would let him have a credit limit large enough to buy one given his situation.

they can do fuck all to be honest after all its 'only' a credit card and the car cannot be re-posessed as the loan isnt secured on it.
On the other hand he is commiting Fraud and should he be caught i expect he would get a custodial sentence

I work in car sales.
No way will he be able to buy on a credit card, Unless he is also gonna pay the 5% charge for using the card. Plus not that many if any card companies would give you a limit of this amount with no income.
The garage is likely to be very suss about this and will wonna make sure the card is 100%.

Ok if he gets away with it but a worst he could do time for fraud and at 15k its possible.
Also the bank could say that the car wasn't his to sell really and could reclaim the car from the unlucky person who buys it from him. (this is unlikely)
Possible more hassel than it is really worth.

Get a job, save up or get credit.
thats what 99% of us have to do.

i think the car deapership would check out to see if he has funds m8 to pay the card. When my other half dad bought a car from a dealership they checked out credit and stuff and would only let him put 5k on it as a limit and hes got money wrapped up to use for bog roll

well theres no issue with him buying the car he is the legal holder of the card can provide loadsa i.d etc and i would imagine the card company would want to talk to him to authorise the amount before they let the amount go though at the dealership

end of the day the dealers fine its not his prob if me mate isnt going to pay his credit card is it

and as for the few percent for ontop for card payment i dont think that will bother him lol

dont get me wrong its a stoopid idea but i have a feeling he will get away with it no prob

he will prove he resold the car month or so later he will prove he had the cash to pay it back or most of it as i expect car wil sell for less

then unfortunatly cash was stolen and he will have proof so he is in the clear for the missing funds

his copuncil house is in his girlfriends name so dunno if even the bailifs can take anything, he will have a piece poo car outside with mot and tax that is his and i expect he wil say to them yes no prob take it lol

he wants to put as much effort in getting a job.
It would be a crying shame if someone stole the motor before he sold it and his insurance didin't pay out, if he has any.
what goes around comes around.

Whatever address the card company has got for him, they are entitled to reposess any goods that amount to the outstanding balance despite who's name the house is in.
So, looks like his missus aint gonna be too happy when she comes homes to find all her shit gone from her house

Guy sounds like a right scheming loser.
If he gets away with it, hes just ripping off you and me. We will pickup the cost of his selfish bad debt in one way or another.

Try to persuade him otherwise. Sounds like he should grow up, stop dreaming of Escort Cosworths, and go out and get a job.

if he does this he wont even be able to have a bank account

i have a mate who owned a valeting business his parter took off with loads of cash and left him in the shit

he cant have a bank account in his name or the money gets taken imediately

his wages have to now be paid into his mums account then he can manage the debt and still have money to live on.

if he thinks he will get away with it he is a fool

sounds like a right chump - i hope this is just pub talk for his sake!!

also - if i did this and got away with it then what is the point in having your dream car? i would always feel like i cheated my way to getting it and all the fun would be lost from driving it!

IMO

As far as the card thing goes, it IS feesable to do.

However, the problem comes when he reports Ł15k as stolen to the Police. They dont take something like this very lightly. They will investigate it thoroughly, including speaking to the person who bought the car from him and possibly even go as far as wanting to see evidence that he withdrew that sort of money from his bank account (and no one has that sort of money just lying around).

Your mate will be charged with Fraud and wasting Police time, he'll do a stretch in prison (length imnot sure of as I do know someone who was charged with Ł400k fraud from his Comapny and only served 1.5 years).

Does sound like a cool idea, but not one you could really get away with (or we'd all be doing it! lol)

Credit card fraud is imprisonable offence.
Think of the retailers who have to pay 5% of most transactions and all the extra charges we continuously are forced to pay, because of pricks like that, who don't use their head, and end up costing everyone else money.
I know the old bill are complete useless pricks, but even they would find it a tad suspicious......so you bought a car on credit card and then sold it a month later and now you've been robbed? I smell bullshit

Get a job and earn the money to pay for the things he wants like every other normal person.

If (and it's a BIG if) he gets away with it who do you think will be left to pick up the tab for his irresponsability?

Not your fault mate you're only posting his intentions.

dont worry i did tell him hes a plonker and save and get a job lol

in one ear out the other

but the fact remains yes technically hes commiting fraud, but how the hell do they prove it.... no chance....

they gave him the credit limit so he took it and bought a car

they have no legal right to the car

unfortunatly he cant meet the repayments and owes them a lot of money

so what do they do? take him to court for a ccj and blacklist him

although i have to admit the balifs taking stuff from his house would piss his missis right off lol he would have to look into that one for the laws on what they can and cant take

i dont condone it in any way

but the fact remains he will end up blacklisted, he will prob have a few knocks on the door

but he will legally own another escort cossie that will prob be in his dads name lol

to be honest hes a scumbag anyway as he works cash in hand but he dont claim dole etc which is kinda a good thing i spose lol

if he wants to do it then so be it and to be honest if he gets a escort cossie out of it then i can sort of see his point if hes not bothered about owning a house or having credit cards etc etc

and after 6 yrs he will be clear more or less anyway

far better than a 15k 5 yr loan and a few hundred notes a month

So this chap plans to have an Escort Cosworth on his driveway in the middle of a council estate?

Sensible...

Seems a dumb idea to me. Blatantly gonna get caught. As has been said, he really ought to just do it the way the rest of us have to. If you have a dream to aim for, you've just got to work until you can achieve that dream.

Quick Reply: my mate is going to bump his credit card to buy dream car..
