the sad thing is though he will probally get away with it and have a escos sat on his drive in front of a council house (HOW FUNNY WOULD THAT LOOK)
i have wanted a 3dr cossie for ages could buy one if i wanted but there are more important things to get first like sorting the house and paying off the depts.
where as these chavs dont give a fuck their car will only rust and crumble in about 20 years how does he expect to pay for things when they go wrong?
i do know a guy who is a drug dealer he has a brand new m3 and en escos it makes you sick though ( so start selling some drugs!).

What i can't understand is why you would want to come on here and tell everyone what your mate is planning to do Seems a bit odd to me unless perhaps you thought he was being clever!

If the government will give me a house just for being lazy, I should emigrate across the pond.

OTOH, if your buddy lives in one of these, its unlikely that he has a high enough credit limit to just flash the plastic to buy an EsCos.

what possible reason can i have for starting this thread other than the point of what a twat thing to do it is

however it does lok like he is going ahead with it as he just text me to say hes found a ash black small turbo and is going to view shortly

he mentioned he can also write a cheque as his credit card co issued him with a book, the fookin coont even phoned barclaycard and told them he will be purchasing a 14k car soon and to expect a large transaction shortly

which they replied yes sir no problem

yes hes a fool yes its wrong but loks like he will get away with it

at the end of the day what dealer is going to refuse a genuine punter stood infront of him willing to purchase there and then

he did ask me to buy one and sell it to him and offered a healthy profit which i refused for obvious reasons

I've been paying my car off for a year now @ 250 quid a month, and have another two years to go. Why should I have to put extra hours in to make the amount up whilst lazy tossers like that get stuff for free. This is why rates and taxes are high in this country, because of people like that . There are some very intelligent people out there that put all there efforts into selfish acts like this, why not do something more constructive with your life?

In your initial post you didn't come across as feeling he was being a twat for doing it In fact you were asking what problems he may encounter etc...like you were trying to help him!
I think you thought everyone would applaud your mate for using his initative but things havn't quite worked out that way have they

I would have thought the reatiler would only loose out if he actually used someone elses card then the transaction gets reversed? This way will just mean he is in big debt with the credit card company won't it?

I couldnt really care about this either way to be honest. If you mate does this it will go exactly as he stated, he will buy car on cardm not pay card. He will get ccj on arrears etc..

Baliffs will seize goods from house as he will be classed as common law after living with a person for 2 years. He will have no credit for 6 years and will probably amount to nothing in life. For this six years he will have an attachement of earnings unless he is on benefits.

So he may have a ford escort cosworth but wont have a decent life. As for buying cars from dealers on cards, my brother bought his daughter a Ł17,000 on his visa debit card.

so pete, the way this guy is planning it, would that be classed as card fraud by the card company or would it be more the lad who would be responsible and pursued???

fookin hell Pete, thats well harsh aint it, so the CC company just take all 14k back and the dealer would be out of pocket for whatever he paid for the car thats a right coont aint it

The way it would work is technically card fraud, cause he "HAS" the guilty intent of not paying it back, however trying to prove this for the card company would be hard. As he had made them aware and all card companies annotate notes when you call he has made "THEM" aware of his intention to use the card for a transaction of Ł14000.

Also when this guy goes to pay at the dealer, they will phone for manual authorisation from the card company. The dealer should have used code 10 to help verify details, although this doesnt guarantee them a chargeback they can still choose to decline the transaction. The dealer will not lose out because a person does not pay there bill.

These comments do not mean i agree with this.

well i cant see why the card company will charge back

so if people stop making payments on there cards the card company takes it back from the retailers.... i dont think so

its the card company that after a couple months will start going at him for not paying

however if there is a way that a retailer would loose that realy is not fair and i myself would emai his name to all high performance retailers i defo wouldnt like to see thaat happen

but theres no way the dealer would be at a loss its the card co hes not paying

It's more than likley he will use a convieniance (sp) cheque, I have used one to buy a car before, purley as the credit card interest rate is lower than a loan, these take a few days to clear just the same as an ordinary cheque, only I couldn't collect the car until it cleared... he is then well within he rights to sell the car, maybe it's not the car of his dreams after all, Up to that point he is doing nothing wrong!!

But from the moment he Calls the Feds to report the suposed theft of the Money from the sale, he is on a downward slide, In my opinion he's commiting theft, Fraud & wasting Police time. Can you imagine what his poor bitch of a partner will feel like when the repo men arrive? Cuz they will!! No he wont care cuz he'll be Clauds Bitch in the Slammer

Tell the fukkin looser to get a fookin life, or even better fuk off and DIE!!

And as someone else said, if you have any decency, you'll talk him out of it, if for no other reason, the Mess his girlfriend is gonna be left with!!

apples - you are correct, the card company will only debit a retailer if they did not take measures to avoid credit fraud.

In the case of your mate, its his card, he has the correct credit limit, the retailer rings for auth and gets paid.

A few months down the line the card company will go after your mate NOT the retailer.

Your mate really does need to look into this a lot more before doing something silly, he needs to ask himself if it is really worth it?! Does he realise he could face prison? See my other post of page one, he may have worked out how to buy the car, but he needs to put far more thought into what he does after that.

if you buy something on a credit card and can no longer afford the payments...
they will take you to court to try and find a way to get the money..
if you can't afford to pay they send the baliffs round
if you have nothing of worth then they will find any way they can to get their money.

Quick Reply: my mate is going to bump his credit card to buy dream car..
