Default My Jordan bike ride pics (very pic heavy)

Better late than never, my pics from my jaunt round Jordan.
Just trying to give an idea of why we were there, who was there, what its like there etc,
I am glad I did it, the past 8 months I have been gearing and training myself for that week, and what an awesome week it was, great time, great people and a great acheivement, I did learn alot about myself while I was there, If anybody gets the chance to do something along them lines then go for it, it is an experiance you can definatly learn from and youll never want to forget.

We arrive at Amman at around 12.30 at night their time after setting off from Manchester at 7am (they are 2 hrs ahead), bit tired we go to a hotel, bed at 2.30 and up at 6.30.
Day 1 - Transfer from Amman to Al-Gharbiyya, we cycle from there to Azraq
made my tired mind chuckle.

This is our rowdy bunch

1st day riding ,mainly along dried lakes and river beds, not much to see.
Scouse Kev in the foreground is the funniest man I have ever met, by day 5 we fucked him off because we had stomach ache and jaw ache he had us laughing that much.

Eating Al Fresco, here our mobile fod wagon for the week, just pull up the side of the road, whip out the gas bottle and get cooking, it doesnt look appealing but they actually served up some decent grub, better than a couple of the hotels.

Day 2 - Azraq to Amman (airport)

This is what 90% of day 2 way, 120km of desert road

We stopped off at an old house of ill repute

Me and my tag team partner Rick

Day 3 - Amman to Dead Sea

When the going got tough, I just thought about these 2 plodding along, 75 and 73 years old and not a care in the world

We stopped at a church in Madaba to see some famous mosaic that looked like this, any of you god botherers may know more than me

Mount Nebo, where Moses was shown the promised land

Then a 12k downhill to go below sea level, we raced each other and when bored cars, dicked about and generally tossed around

We finished our day early, so threw the bags in and went for a float

Had a mud pack

And perved the Soviet

Day 4 - Dead Sea resort to Karak

Dull day for photos, took a load of people with the sea behind em, then we had a tough 27k climb upto Karak, from 400metres below sea lever to around 1200metres above

Over the water is Israel

We had to go over them mountains

From Karak we got a transfer to the Dana nature reserve, Eco friendly gaff, not what you would call paradise.

Day 5 - Dana to Petra

Start the day with abit of a climb

Riding along minding your own business

When you suddenly find overlooking the valley is a sofa, Kev the scouse must have been there 1st as there was no TV

The old timers were still going

We played the lyeing down game

The final descent into Petra, all our hard work was less than a kilometre from the finish line

We Done It

Hope you enjoyed the photo's as much as I enjoyed being there taking them.

Just to add, we did it for Marie Curie Cancer Care and are still accepting donations

Looks awesome! Would LOVE to do something like this, I'm a keen biker and this kind of thing looks right up my street, how often do they do it? Did you all raise a decent amount of money? How many miles total?

Well done by the way

They do them all the time, I did mine through the charity (Marie Curie) but if your involved, linked or have a charity that your close to have a look on their site, if not theres a few companies who does this kinda thing.
We will hit the Ł5500 target, prob be closer to Ł6k once its all in,
Over all that tour (around 70 participants) raised well over Ł330k
